Mr. Eric Du joined Dragon Hotel, Hangzhou and served as general manager in June 2002, when this hotel was still a joint venture. This was the first time that Hangzhou Tourism Group publicly recruited professional managers. The Group thought highly of Mr. Eric Du, by virtue of his superior strengths and enthusiasm for hotel industry.
Prior to this, Mr. Eric Du had studied in University of Nevada, Las Vegas, United States for four years, assiduously for a master degree in hotel management. He experienced the world’s leading hotel management and services, learned about new trends in international hotel industry, and acquired real solutions and techniques regarding practical problems. After returning home, Mr. Eric Du was not satisfied with brilliant performance of Dragon Hotel, as he was well aware that in context of economic globalization, local hotel industry would finally go global and seek for international business development.
Therefore, when Dragon Hotel started all-sided reconstruction and expansion in 2007, Mr. Eric Du was determined to realize his dream of creating the smartest hotel. He indicated that “The future hotel industry trend is intelligence and information. It is easy to imitate luxury, but it is difficult to replicate services. The new smart Dragon Hotel will follow through with intelligence. Proper IT applications will be key to hotel competitions in the future. ”
Mr. Eric Du personally participated in the reconstruction plans for Dragon Hotel, actively exchanged views with designers in such areas as IT, music and art appreciation in which he was adept, and made every effort for the hotel’s every reform. Dragon Hotel, in accordance with international standards of a luxury five-star hotel, was completed and opened for business in 2010. This hotel, which carries the dream of Mr. Eric Du, will undoubtedly become an industry example relying on international excellent service concepts and innovative spirits, will drive development and upgrading of the entire hotel industry, and will set trends for China’s domestic high-end hotels.
